Candy Lei Kits
Candy lei kits are a Hawaiian tradition for children here in the islands. Fun to make and to wear they are enjoyed at parties.
When younger children move from one elementary class to the next a candy lei is a way to celebrate that ‘graduation’. The kits are easy enough to use when going from kindergarten to first grade. It is even more fun when you make your own graduation lei.
Each kit makes five candy leis with your favorite candy.
We’ve just added new designs for even more fun! These include pineapple along with colors in a maile leaf design as well as traditional kapa print. The large variety of colors means your young students should be able to match their leis with their school colors. If not, the hono turtle design is mostly white. The white will go with most color themes and kids love sea turtles.
Candy lei kits can be used at birthday parties, church events or school parties. Or use them as a way to pass a rainy Saturday afternoon.
A candy lei kit consists of a simple sleeve with a color print. The kids insert wrapped candy piece by piece and use the included color ties between each piece. Just slide into the colorful plastic sleeve. Then tie between each piece of candy. The lei is closed with a plastic medallion.
Candy lei kits can also be used with other items. Children can craft their own toy or other object to fill the sleeve. The ties allow them to select the length so a variety of selections are available. It is also a tradition to give money at graduation or other life event. So the candy lei kit can also be filled with coins or rolled bills.
Please order ahead of time to make sure we have enough kits in your chosen color. Some colors sell out in May and June.
All lei kit orders are sent Priority Mail. There is a flat rate of $9.95 regardless of the number of candy lei kits you order.
